130 years of Holder – 130 years of passion
8. January 2018
Eventful anniversary year ahead for Max Holder GmbH
Since 1888 the Holder brand has been synonymous with inspiring technology and pioneering innovations – first of all in the orchard, then in the field and today in communities all over the world. Right from the beginning the company was considered a pioneer for novel developments, initially mainly in winegrowing and plant protection. Equipment, machines and all-wheel trailers were exported all over the world. In 1950 Holder presented the first functional small diesel engine. The Holder invention became world-famous under the general name "Sachs Diesel" and was manufactured in high quantities. Another milestone followed in 1954 with the presentation of the world's first tractor with permanent all-wheel drive, articulated steering and four equal sized wheels. A machine concept that revolutionised the industry and is still in use today. In 1980 the company got involved in municipal business.
With a full-line vehicle offer from 40 to 130 HP and one of the largest ranges of attachments on the market, Holder now offers a unique and complete 360° all-round service for municipalities, service providers and facility operators. The traditional manufacturer starts its 130th year with an explosive display of innovations: At the upper end of the product range the new S series sets standards with an up to 130 HP Stage-5-ready engine – it is the most powerful articulated vehicle on the market. The Holder C 65 celebrates a première and like its big brother the Holder C 70 has everything needed to make the difference in tough day-to-day life. The Holder X 45 is on the starting blocks as a successor to the small Holder X 30 – from the middle of 2018 it will give fresh impetus to the super compact class with a significant power boost and numerous innovations.
The new X series will be available with both a diesel and a petrol engine, which represents an insight into the future. In the anniversary year Holder also focuses even more on the challenges of the coming years – be it through the continuous internationalisation of sales and marketing activities or with innovative responses to the problem of particulate matter in many cities. Petrol engines and research collaborations for electric commercial vehicles are just two examples here. The relocation of the company in 2018 to the new headquarters in Reutlingen-Kirchentellinsfurt also represents an equally fundamental factor – a milestone that will be accompanied by numerous activities and events.
