Holder's strict customer orientation and targeted expansion of the sales structure have yielded a 22% increase in turnover

The long-established company from Metzingen is successfully continuing the course it set in 2008. Ever since the three shareholders, Martin Haas, Dr. Carl-Heiner Schmid and Dr. Christopf Weiss, took over the helm at Max Holder GmbH, the company, led by managing director Andreas Vorig, has been focusing on its core competence as a leading manufacturer of articulated tool carriers for all-season municipal use as well as viticulture and fruit growing operations.

Holder's positive development is reflected in many business performance indicators. The number of orders has risen significantly. Sales volume increased from 220 tool carriers sold in 2009 to 560 in 2010. For the current year, Vorig anticipates the sale of over 600 units. The company's mid-term target is 700 to 800 vehicles per year. Turnover increased to about 28 million euros in 2010 from 5 million euros in the previous year, with as much as 32 million euros in sales being anticipated for 2011. 

Thanks to optimised processes, the company was able to increase vehicle production from 444 to 512 units from 2009 to 2010. Production is expected to reach 560 vehicles in 2011 without adding any more workers. And it should not go unmentioned that almost all tool carriers are made to order, with every single product being manufactured individually.

Over the past three years,the number of staff was increased in a targeted manner - from 90 to over 140 - in order to be able to handle requirements for customer service, customer-oriented market cultivation and the numerous challenges involved in product development and innovation.

Market development and product portfolio expansion

According to Andreas Vorig, the planned expansion includes an incremental extension of the product range as well as the development of new markets and target groups. In addition to a dense network of partners in 28 locations across Germany, Holder relies on 
36 sales partners in 17 countries around the world. The company plans to add new partners to this net-work –  especially in Europe. 

The keenly awaited 2-man cab of the new C-series, as well as the tracked chassis in combination with the powerful S 990 unit, are being presented at the Demopark 2011 trade show in Eisenach. In this up-per performance segment, the range of engines for the 
M 480 (77 HP) and S 990 (92 HP) types will also be extended in the mid term. In addition, a complete rework of the smallest model V 130 (27 HP) and an extension of the product lines for the viticultural segment are planned. 

Continuous extension of customer services

Service is more important than ever to ensure customer satisfaction. Therefore, Holder is consist-ently enhancing its service performance. This in-cludes the availability of spare parts as well as sim-plified order processing and regular communication of up-to-date information.

Practice-oriented sales and technical training ses-sions have resumed to keep Holder sales partners up to date with the latest know-how, giving them a competitive edge and enabling them to operate the products efficiently so as to provide customers with the best-possible advice. In addition, a service workshop is being outfitted in Metzing, which will extend the range of on-site services offered to customers and dealers to include those needed after vehicle delivery. In the future, parts procurement will be even quicker and more efficient thanks to an online platform available via the internet.
